I think this is just sheer laziness on the part of Hasbro. This is the same reason I stopped with the DCSH figs. Give us new figures of characters who still have no Legend scale figs (i.e. Nova, Adam Warlock, Blackbolt, etc). If they do plan to come out with this lineup, the least they could do is make a new sculpt for these. Remember the exploding crotch of Iceman,Geez!

Repainting them doesnt make them new figures. Ultimate cyclops has spiked hair /crewcut hair. Plus the uniform has a different scheme. If they made a toad repaint though i wont complain hahahahaha
if they also repaint juggernaut with the yellow/gray scheme reminiscent of his costume when he joined the xmen that would be welcome. This will be a bane to MOC collectors IMO depending on Hasbro's choices. |

I think this is Hasbro children line...and will probably be priced cheaper than the more collector focus Marvel legends line....

i think they may well be lumped in with the collector-driven line [given that they were collector-driven line molds to begin with], although who's to say. Iceman DOES have a launcher and all, and Hasbro does diversify its lines well across age markets.
i don't think this is a major cause for concern, or a bane of any sort... this is, of course, standard operating procedure from Hasbro [and most toy companies after acquiring a license's mold 'library']. the use of recolors of old molds does various lovely things: [1] they keep these molds viable and in use, which will keep these molds from getting lost [preventing reissues years down the line, as with TF Generation One] [2] they keep these molds available to people who didn't get the figure earlier on... which, due to the ML distribution/market/whatever, is likely a LOT of people. [3] they MAKE/SAVE Hasbro money [which is one reason people decry this so much] that is likely to be used in developing more NEW molds and whatnot for later release. [4] they make interesting/alternate color schemes available for these characters [i know I love that Magneto and Ultimate Cap, and i can even deal with the Iceman look] without having to make new molds. - last "and it's Marvel... of COURSE there'll be a Wolverine, heh heh" maximal |

I sure'd like to get a few that I missed out on the previous releases. I'm not a big fan of the Ultimates but I already have some from the Xmen line, It'd be a shame if I didn't get more of their team mates and villains. :)
The Mutant X line is finally getting attention. I hope they continue to make more. |

Just because Hasbro got the Marvel License doesn't mean they can make all the characters in the Marvel Universe. Each characters still have individual licensing they still need to wait for Marvel Corp. to approve it or not. Just like the Mattel issue with DCSH.

But from what we have seen so far, they may've gotten the license for the whole Marvel Universe, take a look at the team diversity-The Avengers, The X-Men, even the movie figures :D Mattel's issue with DCSH is different since DC licensed only Supes and Bats related characters to Mattel. |

Actually Ziggy DCSH line is not different if you're including the JLU line technically it's not only bats and supes related characters. that's why even JLU line is still having a hard time acquiring other licensed character.Plus majority of DC licensed characters are handled by DC Direct. Now back to our regular programming HASBRO according from SDCC 2006 Marvel Heroes This 6-inch group of toys is aimed at a younger audience. The toys feature less detail and less articulation than the more collectable Legends line. The Heroes toys will focus on the more mainstream characters, therefore having more mutants in it. So WE WILL EXPECT MAINSTREAM! |
