Hey guys here's a review thread and our first distinguished guest comes from deep with in the bowel of the Orthanc..for those of you who don't know this gentleuruk let me introduce you.. :wub:
(IMG:http://img308.imageshack.us/img308/4978/121706lurtz013np3.jpg) This is one of the best premium format statues from sideshow and if you remeber the movie this is an exquisite representation of lurtz..the sculpt is simply fantastic.. (IMG:http://img272.imageshack.us/img272/3474/121706lurtz001vt7.jpg) The craftsmanship of the armour and the leather is simply expertly done and it shows in the stitching and riveting of all the clothing pieces..this is nothing short of a real piece of art. (IMG:http://img308.imageshack.us/img308/2584/121706lurtz002yd5.jpg) The base has a nameplate and is slightly weathered and compliments the stat very well..even the fonts chosen are spot on. (IMG:http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/7453/121706lurtz003pd0.jpg) Everything on the base is what you would find at Amon hen..where our hero boromir is slain by Lurtz...Keep blowin your horn baby.. :shocked: (IMG:http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2750/121706lurtz004va8.jpg) Side view of lurtz the work just simply shines through.. (IMG:http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/8994/121706lurtz005ti9.jpg) The shield is just so accurate from the weathering to the riveting..simply gorgeous.. (IMG:http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/8273/121706lurtz006ug1.jpg) From the rear is simply just as good as from the front..the clothes and craftsmanship just shines through. (IMG:http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/8774/121706lurtz007xy8.jpg) The detail from the buckles to the arrow pouch is simply brilliant..everytime i look at this piece something amazes me.. (IMG:http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1074/121706lurtz010qc7.jpg) My review of this stat is that it is simply a great piece and if you collect stats and you are an LOTR fan..this is a definite must have.. :danceofjoy: Sculpt 5/5 Paint 4/5 clothing 5/5 overall 5/5 Recommendation BUY IT!! You will be hard pressed to find a better piece anywhere..PERIOD. :P |

There's one right now... if you win, you can choose either General Grievous or Lurtz... only if I can remember which one... there's a lot of contests this month... I'm hoping I win that one... maybe I'll do a list of all the contests... someone might get lucky and win... :D |
