Thought I'd create a separate thread for the Batmobile so it can be discussed independent of Batman figures/statues.

To start with, check this out (this was taken from a SEMA car show in the US):

Got this straight from Julius Marx of AFI:

"I’m hoping to get a full feature up later tomorrow about this with LOTS more pictures… but I just couldn’t wait posting these teaser images. After 40 years, Mattel has managed to get the license to do Hot Wheels replicas of the 1966 George Barris designed Batmobile. This is the 1/64th scale Hot Wheels version that should be hitting stores next month. Mattel is also planning 1/43rd and 1/18 scale 66′ Batmobiles."

Check out the teaser pics on AFI's main page:
http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/main/

BTW, please don't use their images without getting permission first.

AFHub has been granted permission by Daniel Pickett (aka Julius Marx of Action Figure Insider) to post the following images of the highly anticipated 1966 Batmobile from the hit TV series. These images are exclusive to AFI and we have just been fortunate to obtain replublishing rights.

Please do not repost photos on other sites without securing permission from AFI first. Thanks.

AFHub was granted permission by AFI to reprint a couple of their exclusive photos.

just two questions:

1) does the batman begins - batmobile (bat tumbler?) come in black? i remember is being purplish...

2) which b: tas batmobile (the one shaped like a coffin) toy is the most show accurate to date? having trouble deciding between the original one released or the shadowcast...

i think the purple tumbler was the battle-damaged variant.
as for the animated batman, i'm not so familiar with the tv series but i have a pic of the two batmobiles from BTAS (early 90's) and The New Batman Adventures (late 90's). the BTAS batmobile was from ERTL and TNBA from kenner.

I'm not a Batmobile collector but I have been wanting to get the Shadowcast Batmobile from BTAS (which I think is closest to being show-accurate):

(IMG:http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/4439/shadowcastbatmobilead2.jpg)

And as with most Batman toys, there's a repaint version called Guardian of Gotham City Batmobile:

(IMG:http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/1631/guardianofgothamcitybatha1.jpg)

It is again later released as Knight Camo Batmobile under the TNBA line:

(IMG:http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/2564/knightcamobatmobilezs2.jpg)

I think all these came from the same cookie-cutter mold. The latter 2 are the "cheaper" versions among the 3. A decent flat-black paint job might make them look better.
