I wonder what's the purpose of having those playkit reps in those malls anyway. It woud be nicer if they would take a proactive role and try to regulate puchases of some patrons say a limit of 4 of the same fid per person so as to ensure that everyone can have an equal chance of getting some items.

That would be ideal Mike...but you should also remember that they are just making a living, for most of them, just to make ends meet. Their objective is to reach their quota not to make friends...

I appreciate the comment Yam but what you said is actually opposite of what's happening. Some of these toy reps have used their position to have certain "friends" in toycollecting. I have personally heard fellow collectors attesting to the fact that they give free lunches or even cash to these toy reps just so they get "taken care off". If that is their style of friendship then count me out.

Although they may have to sell these toys, i'm pretty sure most of them will move on their own without these toy reps having to prod us into purchasing them. The only ones who need real convincing to buy toys are some parents who need to silence their crying kids or parents who had promised junior an unspecified gift for his graduation and they have no clue as to what to give since they dont have the time or didnt make the time to get to know what their kids like or want.

So again their (toy reps) role in stores is really pointless.

Anyway back to what's locally out...

Well, one technique somebody confess to me to get on a rep's good side is to buy them prepaid cell cards. Dunno if the card is given to the rep...or Pass-a-load lang sa kanila....

On the sales rep, here are my experience.

- May friends talaga yun iba. Some guy comes in a little later than me, then the rep hands him hard to find figures.

- Some reps are okay. I was looking at a peg and was looking for White Storm of XMC, the rep aks me if I want one, and hands me one, and ask if I want Archangel. then I got one. haha! Then another collector comes in and ask, and she gave him also. Her point, everybody gets at least one of the hard to find figures

- Just yesterday I got some SMC for friends, naubusan ako sa Shocker ...then when I was in the counter paying for the other stuff, the rep came out from the stockroom and immediately hand me 2 shockers! haha!

So I think sales rep are generally good. They just seem "bad" to us because sometimes they make mistakes and hand over toys to hoarders.

You know I think guys who hoard Marvel Legends now have real guts. There's a possiblity these figs are truly limited, like ML icons, and some people are just taking advantage of the situation. It's just a shame some true collectors end up paying more for figures because of these hoarders.

Hehehehe still waiting for teddyboy of the pther boards to give me the lowdown on the near-fight but with his description of a zitfaced dude with a Nap Gutierrez hairdo i have my usual suspect.
