They look like cake figurines...

thanks a lot guys... anyways to answer all the queries regarding them...

they are made of hard plastic with a plastic base and a plastic background... they stand about 1 1/2 inches... there are 6 designs to choose from... the only problem is you cant choose what design u gonna get. these figs are dispensed by a machine (just imagine a bubblegum dispenser on a amusement park) you drop the money and turn the knob..and an egg like plastic container drops in yur hand. all you need to do is open the plastic egg (or sphere) and yur fig is inside (just keep your fingers crossed that you dont get the same fig you already got). i really like them. reminds me of the heroclix figs (they are abit bigger than these heroclix figs).

Thanks for the info on these. Looks like they are China-made Gashapons or vending/capsule toys. There's a good chance these are available in Hong Kong.
