basically, rocky doesn't win a title technically because mason "the line" dixon still retains the heavyweight title in the end. what rocky balboa wins is his legacy as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers intact. dixon wins more than the heavyweight title but the respect from the boxing public for fighting someone of the calibre of rocky balboa. prior to this fight, dixon was only fighting challengers that were "hand-picked" by fight promoters.
