Here's the deal. Some packaging elements ran later than expected.

NECA had to keep things moving on their end (they can't just leave their factories with nothing to do or another company will jump in and take their slot), so the production slot that was originally scheduled for Wave 4 had to be filled with another line that was being produced by NECA.

NECA wanted to keep the same tremendous quality that they've gotten with the previous three waves, so rather than use an inferior factory, they decided to wait.

This caused production on Wave 4 to be backed up more than a month until the other line was out of the way. In essence, a delay of about two weeks snowballed into about seven weeks. It is bad, but that's the way things go in the toy industry sometimes.

Supposedly the now finished Wave 4 is on the water on it's way here, so it shouldn't be much longer. AFX may very well be right in their "2-3 weeks" estimate.
