If the character appears in the animation, DC and WB have been fairly accomodating in letting us produce the figures we want. For example, we thought the BM/SM 2-pack that is coming out in the 10" figures this spring at TRU would be a hard sell, but WB and DC were very accomodating in giving us the green light since the two appeared together in the animation.
Your comments were inline with what I was expecting
They were already made with the Doomsday 6-pack anf Grundy. I am working on getting in the Designer's requestion, which is a Blue Devil that will only appear in a single.
It's not my line. However, as for scale, I think it will be different than JLU.
Target can't get enough 6-packs. We will do another one next year.
Everyone comes on at different times.
You answered your own question. I wanted to go crazy with the figures in 2007, but it would make sense to go back to episode packs in 2008.
I think that's a fair assumption.
WMT is getting it with the 6" figure success. TRU is starting to get it with the 2 UP figure success. TGT is getting it with the 6-pack success. The word "collector" has been a good word at this Toy Fair. Thanks for supporting the lines as you have done. 2007 will even be better for collectors, and we are working to make even a better 2008 for you guys right now.
Everything helps, but they are seeing it firsthand in their sales numbers this fall. The best way to keep things going is to support the lines.
I forwarded your comment to Hong Kong. Let us look into it. Sorry to hear you are not satisfied witht he quality.
Probably not for 2007, but we are discussing 2008, and I think we will be looking to go more obscure if 2008 gets the green light.
I saw a model of Hawkman, and boy does he look good.
WMT is taking the 3-packs in the fall. They dropped the singles. Something about more value.
My dad worked for Big Lots, so I always try to do a little extra for them. We will be re-releasing the 6" Comic Dlx figures there next year, along with the JLU motos and JLU figures from 2004.
I saw the JLU Joker model as well, and he looks good.
? Diamond and other hobby channels will get solid villain mixes and first to market releases on some characters.
The JLU Designer would love to do Giganta. She was pitched in an execution yesterday to management and was turned down. However, we are still looking at other opportunities. JLU has become great for customized product for retailers, so there are still more opportunities.
The plan was to have a 10" Giganta with 5 other 4.75" figures. Whatever packout execution we will do, she will be big.
Probably something for 2008+
Our team has not discussed this in over a year. Let me bring up in the next team meeting. Probably too late for 2007. However, I think some females will get them.
The Lobo request has become a joke between my boss and I. WB and DC just do not feel Lobo is appropiate for a line that theoretically is meant for kids.
Cheeta has been on and off the list. Manhunters are also in that category. Capt Marvel is a no. If we do not make cheeta or the Manhunters in 2007, 2008 could be a good year to see them.
Correct
Men in suits don't sell to kids. Since Animated is so kid targeted, these figures are unlikely. The 6" line would be a better place to find them down the road.
This should not happen. Let me connect with HK. Thanks for bringing to my attention.
I think it has something to do with him not fitting in the single packs. I forget why he won't be in the singles.
I like the way you think. I just suggested a 10" Atom Smasher as the replacement for the 10" Giganta. Management wanted to launch with a male figure. I should know more before xmas...
Check out Big Lots for the 2004 product. I know what you mean... I was playing with some of the figures in a meeting the other day, and I didn't care for the articulation on some of the figures.
No work has started on 08 JLU; however, we are discussing 08 plans, and I think this line still has legs. My reco over the next few weeks will be to continue making figures. That's all for now. I will be back between Thanksgiving and Christmas. |

| @ VADER It's only Bats and Supes that I got for a dollar each on e-bay. The rest was from a collectible shop near where I live. @ REDIAHS Thanks! I really got hooked on this line! Thanks to Carthut and Vader. I have no regrets! Now, I thirst for MORE!!!! @ CLARK KEN I'm glad to be here too. I panicked when I noticed nobody was posting anymore at PTK JLU thread. It is the most active thread that I know of there, then, nobody was posting 2 days, then 3 days... Very unusual. Good thing Vader saw my CRY and eventually tiold me about this site... Well, now that I'm here, I'm relaxed again coz I'm amongst good friends... |
