hi all,

ANTHEM MAGAZINE is a free music publication that i'm involved with. we call it 'magazine' when it's really more like a pamphlet, but let's not get into semantics. regardless of what it's called, the important thing is that it's still free! you can get your copies in bars and restos all over the metro (please check out http://www.theanthemmag.com/directory.html for venues). if you see a copy and find that you like it - perhaps you fancy the graphics or found some features interesting - feel free to take extras and give them to your friends. it's free! since it's got very nice colors, you can even take extras to line your closets with, although this is not really advised.

my involvement with ANTHEM started with this month's issue, where i wrote my first ever band feature, which is about the good boys and grrl of NARDA (i was in a marvel legends phase when i did the piece, and i couldn't help piling on superhero references, so i apologize for any unfortunate geek moments). fyi, narda's adorable frontwoman, katwo, was also featured in last month's issue of fhm, which i'm pretty sure most of you guys have (perhaps even autographed).

anyway, NARDA will be playing this saturday evening at MAYRIC's with four other featured bands - BLAZING BULALAKAWS, COG, PENTASPIRAL, and WANDA. i hope you guys can spare the cover charge of p150 (with free beer!) and check the gig out. it's going to be so good that you'll even force us to charge you double! or not, but you still get a free beer!

i hope to see you guys this saturday (providing i don't develop something contagious tomorrow).

thanks!

< no, katwo won't probably enjoy signing your fhm issues at the gig and she might even pull all your hair out if you even mention her interview. you can, however, buy a copy of narda's DISCOTILLION cd at tower and have it signed at the gig... maybe then she won't mind signing your fhm. it's a good album anyhow. their synth player also collects toys, btw. >

Congrats, Ronan (aptly designated "web whore") - always figured your writing flair needs to see print - somehow.
